Welcome to the other side !!!! The pain/uncomfortableness gets less each day. Keep up with your pain meds and move around you may be unconfortable from the gas too !! I had terrible shoulder pain. I was OK about 5 days after surgery.

It will get better. I remember I would of gave anything to have some water. What I found to help was to take some water, swish it around my mouth and then spit it out.

Hi Amanda......I had my surgery Monday. The water thing was crazy! They gave me ice chips after my swallow test and I have never had anything taste so good! I am home and I am only taking a half dose of my pain med in the morning and at night. So far today, I have not taken my morning dose. Only hurts when I get up and that is just for a few seconds........you will feel a little better every day!

Iam 11 days out and I feel great. Walking helped me with the air it hurt in my shoulders for about 4 or 5 days but it gets better

Definitely gets much better every day. Walking will help a lot with the gas. The dehydration is the pits but you'll be able to drink water after they do the x-ray for any leaks. All down hill from there. Congratulations on your surgery! You're gonna love the new you!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery & sending you a big hug
