Er Visit

So I bit the bullet and went to the ER today. I went out driving on Wednesday. I had been pretty pain free. By the time I got home I was in horrid pain. Each day the pain got a little worse. Today it was ridiculous. Burning pain in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen. Stabbing/burning pain in my left flank. Woke up with a temp of 99 when my norm is 97.2-97.4. I thought I might have a kidney infection or kidney stones.

All my blood work and my CT came back normal. No signs of infection, abscess, surgical leaking, etc. It's all muscular they tell me. Believe me, I thank God for that. But how the heck am I supposed to live through this. I feel like I'm whining. The pain was much better and now it's almost the worst its ever been. I don't know what to do. I walk! I'm trying to be active! But I'm not comfortable unless I'm laying flat or standing tall and straight!! Ugh, any suggestions?

I have an SUV. It hurts my back horribly. I have to lay my right side on the console and then cock my neck so I can see out the window. Ridiculous!! I've tried a pillow' date=' grinning and bearing it, etc. Luckily I don't really have anywhere to go until I go back to work in 2 weeks. I don't know how I'll ever make that drive![/quote']

I was wondering how u were doing?

Still can't drive. My back still hurts like crazy. The pain in my upper left quadrant is slowly getting better. Don't know what I'm going to do. Would have thought by now I'd be on the other side of the pain hump:( Still 2 weeks before I go back to work. Just praying it's all gone by then!

Hope it gets better soon. This must be very disheartening and frustrating for you. Keep your eye on the future goal and realize that this will soon pass and soon you will look back from the perspective of a healthy thinner you.

Regardless you did the right thing. Especially post op soon after, you should always discuss pain with your doc. Hang in there and remember it will be worth it!
