I live in the Harrisburg area. Anyone else?
  2. I'm trying to decide what is wrong with me. For the last several days I have been extremely nauseous. I gag a lot and heave. Nothing comes up. I could have the flu or a GI bug. I constantly feel a pressure/annoyance over my mid sternum. It goes away for a bit each time I heave. My gall bladder is gone. So stricture or flu/GI bug?

I would assume fever with flu, too. I'm also not achy at all. I'm 100% sure I'm not pregnant:). Though my 10 yo would love that. I haven't eaten anything in 2 days cause of this pressure and the heaving. Maybe I'm just wacko;) I think I'll go to my family doc today and get her opinion. Part of me is starting to wonder if it's not just severe gastric reflux.

Nausea and pressure? I never considered bronchitis.

    Pennsylvania Anyone?

I haven't been on in awhile! Girl, you're looking amazing!!
  6. I'm sorry I went MIA. The weeks of nausea and puking took their toll. But finally it seems to be over. Dr took my gall bladder out:) I went to sleep nauseous and woke up nausea free!! Eating an omelet for breakfast. It's going very well! Happy to say that after all the pain issues I had with my bypass I'm just a little sore from yesterday.

It's common to have gall bladder issues after any massive weight loss. I had stones prior but no issues. That started almost 10 weeks to the day out. My surgeon could kick himself for not taking it out originally. Or maybe it's me who could kick him;)

Bird, I had RNY. I am a RN and also did much research on the various procedures. Each has benefits and deductions. It truly depends on what you're looking for and how restrictive you feel you need to go. I know people who've had issues with all the procedures. I will only speak for myself. My surgery itself went well. I am apparently the 1 in 1,000,000 that suffers horrendous pain with lap procedures. I don't think it would have mattered which way I went. Just be forewarned that not everyone can claim it didn't hurt a bit or they were nothing more than sore. And mine was all muscular. Not a bit of it was gas pain. That said I'd do it again in a heartbeat (just one not so in the dark;)). I've lost 70 lbs since June 7th. Off all insulin as soon as they got my sugars post surgery under control. No more BP meds. I don't get so out of breath when walking and I can do at least 3 flights of stairs without feeling like I'm gonna die. My only complication has been constant nausea and vomiting all solids. But that is all my gall bladder. As soon as that comes out I should be golden!!

    Hair Loss

I was losing clumps of hair. Having always had such beautiful, long, thick, wavy hair I wanted to cry when I brushes or washed it. I currently eat very little r/t my gall bladder needing to come out. My protein intake is in the toilet. I try and drink milk by the gallon;) cause it stays down. Anyway, I've been taking biotin. I've tried the shampoos. Nothing is working. Then I cut my hair from just above my butt to my shoulders. And now the falling out has slowed up drastically. Im guessing taking some of the weight off the follicles has helped.

    Gallbladder Symptoms

Ray, been there. I guess fortunately there was no stricture which led to the gall bladder testing.

    Gallbladder Symptoms

I don't have pain. And mine is my gall bladder. We've been through all the testing and I have to have a cholecystectomy. It's an abnormal presentation, I realize. But still the fall bladder nonetheless.

    Gallbladder Symptoms

All I have is constant nausea and vomiting when I eat solid foods. No pain at all.
  13. I has surgery 6/7. Fairly normal post op course. Pain issues that resolved. Last Tues night at 9 pm ish I became very nauseous. That was 9 weeks 5 days post op. usually means I'm hungry. I ate. The nausea got increasingly worse. I vomited around 1 am. I called the surgeon 1st thing in the am. He immediately thought stricture. Did EGD Thurs. No stricture. Upper GI tract perfect. He says it may be gall bladder but very early for that and very atypical presentation. Gave me phenergan and said if it continues until Sept appt he'll work up my gall bladder. I have no pain. Constant overwhelming nausea. The meds make it bearable but they make me tired so can't take them at work. Can't eat any solids. They come back up. Can keep down liquids. Passing gas and having normal bowel movements so not a bowel obstruction. Any opinions, suggestions, thoughts?
  14. My surgeon decided its my gall bladder and it needs to come out. But no rush on it;( He wants to do Lap Chole..... I'm thinking open after all the pain issues post op from lap bypass.

    Recovery/downtime

I had surgery on Thursday. Left Saturday afternoon. Was ok for first week. About a week out developed excruciating muscular pain. Was completely laid up until 5 weeks post surgery. Was off for 6 weeks. But I'm apparently one of the very few exceptions to the rule;)
  16. I still have the nausea. I haven't eaten any solids in 2 weeks. No stricture. My EGD was clear. I had my 3 month labs drawn. Somehow they are all mid range normal. Lol!! How is that even possible? I can't eat or take vitamins. We did a gall bladders u/s on Friday. It's unchanged from preop. Dr said if u/s didn't show anything then we'd do a HIDA scAn so I assume Monday he'll write the order for that. All I want to do is not be nauseous and eat a little something.
  17. Not to butt in but;) what were your symptoms?

    Venting

Me! Me! Me! 54 lbs and I can't even buy new clothes. Although I can buy smaller scrubs. Go figure!!! I think all 54 came off my neck, face, feet and abdomen. But left my butt, hips, thighs and boobs alone;)
