Back Pain, Anyone?

I have had low back pain for years. I'm sure a big part of it is this huge abdomen I carry around, the other part is thanks to a drunk driver years ago. Does anyone else have this or has anyone had it resolve since their surgery?

I just had surgery Tuesday and my back is killing me, doc said allot of it was from lying on the or table for 4 hrs. I hope it gets better soon!

I have had back pain for years disc problems. After surgery the pain was more like muscle pain. Now with some weight loss it is better. But bending forward kills my stomach.

I am 17 days post op and have back pain for past few days. I have also has serious gas pain. I have been using heat and it's helped, it is in my left side behind ribs. I am sure it's probably gas :(

Hi K,

I also have had low back pain for years, but after the surgery, it seemed all my pain had settled into low back. I'm 15 days post RNY as of today, Monday. It hurts daily now, and much more after I've been up walking around a lot. I complained about the severe pain in my low back when I was in the hospital and they said it was probably from the position on the operating table. I think it's more then that though for me, and am hoping it gets better as I lose the weight. I also have a new pain in the last 2 or 3 days. This one is on the right side of my belly button. I did have an inguinal hernia they took care of during surgery that I wasn't aware was there and now I'm wondering if this pain is in the area they did that repair. I'm not due for my first post op visit until Thursday, 06/28/12, but I'm seriously thinking of calling them tomorrow to ask about this pain. One of the other girls I work with that had her RNY the end of Feb 2012, told me her incision sites got better, but then they got sore again.
