Im In Pain!

Surgery went good. I'm at home now. Woke up this morning (4th day). Took the hydrocodine doc prescribed for me. It's terrible. Raises my heart rate and give me a crazy headache that's worse than the pain in my stomic. I called him this morning he said the worst thing( just add Tylenol) well that's bull shit! So I did knowing that's not going to help much. And of coarse, went to sleep for an hour woke up with my heart racing and a pounding head ace. So I had my mom call him. Her said that he has done thousands of these and I should not need any more. Not asking of more meds just need smomething that won't give me a headache. I paid over $20000 for this op and this guy is pulling this crap. As I see it there is no need for this. I'm trying so hard to stick with everything they tell me, I know it will get better soon, but I'm this close to go try something on my own like vaporize some weed. What should I do?

I'm so sorry you're having these kinds of problems. For the headache you might try using an ice pack on your head. It sounds as though you're having an allergic type of reaction possibly to the codine in the hydrocodone. I think if it were me, I would stop the hydrocodone, use the icepacks for the headache and just plain Tylenol for the pain. If that doesn't work, you might want to go to the ER or an Urgent Care to get a shot of pain meds. Keep us posted. By the way, I'm a retired R.N..

Hydro condone makes me sick to my stomach, most pain Meds do, so I am concerned about that after surgery. Hopefully the pain will sub side and u won't need. Best of luck

Sorry to say but the doctor is right. Gas pain take gripe water and the pain over the counter stuff should handle it . This is my second time doing the surgery and relax by day 5 you will not even remember the pain .

Well everyone handles pain in a different way. I had 3 c-sections with the first one I was in the hispital for 6 days. When I came out I had no pain. I was given all the meds in the hospital. With 2nd one in hospital 3 days got pain meds to go take it about 3 days & was fine. 3rd baby stay about 3 days also. Ran into problems had blood transfusion I was messed up like wow! Pain lasted like 7 days. Had swollen foot had a nurse in the house to take care if me for 2 weeks. Was bleeding from the incision.

So see everyone takes pain differently. So let's see how my body handles this surgery.
