Emotions

I'm feeling very emotional lately. I've heard that people who have gone through the gastric bypass surgery can be an emotional mess. I'm 7 weeks post-op and haven't had any issues emotionally until recent. I'm just wondering if anyone else had experienced mood changes?

Omg! I'm so glad someone else is going through this ( well not really because it's not a good feeling). I'm 3 weeks tomorrow and I am resentful, angry, regretful and emotional and I'm driving myself crazy. Don't know what to do because I can't stand to be around myself.

It's like any other addiction. You have just told your body once and for all that you aren't feeding it into oblivion and as revenge it's fighting back. Being emotional is normal you just need to put something else in its place that is positive. Reading, praying, working out, chatting with others here and hopefully there are support groups in your area too. Don't worry your body is just in freak out mode but we are all in this together and we will get you through it :)

Thanks OnYx! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one! Like I stated earlier..I've just started noticing it the past couple days. I don't regret or resent the surgery at all- actually I'm thankful for it. I dont even know if I can describe what I'm feeling...it's weird but I know whatever it is it certainly isn't normal for me.

You are not alone. I've been mean and angry for no reason. I thought it was pms but when I looked at the calendar it wasn't. I think it's getting better though.
