Best Protein Bars

Ok guys, there are about a gazillion Protein bars on the market, and let's be realistic, the majority are just glorified candy bars.

So this begs the question, has anyone found some exceptional Protein Bars for a Meal Replacement on the go that they would like to share?

What is the best taste/protein content/lowest calorie/and most natural ingredients that you have tried?

Also, has anyone tried to make their own yet? I'm thinking about playing around with some recipes and seeing what I can come up with :-)

If you're talking about Quest bars.. most of them have 17-20 grams of FIBER. Most of us don't count fiber in our carb counts. Quest bars are one of the least carby bars out there.

  • Oh...SERIOUSLY? I just got my first shipment from them today. So much cheaper than buying at GNC

Agree with glorified candy bars.... that said I do love a Quest bar. I stick with the "natural" ones just because they have a few less calories than the other flavors. My favs are Strawberry Cheesecake, Coconut Cashew and Chocolate Peanut Butter.

I agree with the other comments. Quest Bars have been the best by far. I recently purchased a sample pack of twelve to see which ones I liked best. So far all of them have been good!

I just looked at their site. It appears to me that the carbs are very high??

I am also a fan of quest bars. In the beginning, I just got the standard ones from costco. Over time, I didn't care for the coatings on all of them. Most protein bars have that chocolate coating that just got too sweet for me. I found quest bars and they are wonderful. I can keep them in my car in the hot sun and not worry about them being a mess when I want to eat one. Cookie dough is my fav!!!

I usually deduct dietary fiber from carbs to get the net carbs.

We are going to have a lot of issues getting enough dietary fiber with our sleeves, so I have no problem with healthy carbs :-)
