Panties

Recommended Posts

So when I exercise my shorts are too big and fall down and my panties are too big so when my shorts fall down my panties fall down too. I have always bought my panties at Lane Bryant and bought the high leg. I liked these because I have a big lower stomach from excess skin and the high leg was not too high that my stomach roll fit in the panty and not over it and because they had pretty colors and laces, etc. Well, I was wearing a 14/16 in LB panties and their panties do not go smaller in size. Does anyone have some recommendations for panties that have the same qualities are LB's? I have lost 43 pounds but I still have this excess skin stomach that has to be tucked away.

I actually just bought some today. I just bought the cheap microfiber fruit of the loom.. I got seven pair for ten dollars. I figure they're good for the transition period I'm in. I LIKE maidenform panties but I don't want to pay right now for them.... Personally I buy briefs because my lowerstomach is really wide and floppy and sticks out the legs of the high cut.. gross.. Can't wait to get that thing cut off..... then I'll be able to wear something with a high leg and/or low waist.

I just wanted to say congrats on graduating from Lane Bryant panties!!! :) I don't have any recommendations, but I'm very curious to see what others suggest. I hate going into LB stores, so I'd love to buy similar panties from a different retailer.

I love the Gilligan and O'Mally from Target. They have a knock off of spanks too, I can't remember if they are from Target or Walmart. I'm not a girly girl, so I don't do lace, or satiny material, but the Target panties come in several materials and I have always liked the feel and quality of them.

I also LOVE going to Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshall's for designer panties at super discounts.

When I'm a 14, victoria's secret L fit me just fine. In fact, I'm wearing their XL at a 16/16w. Their hipsters fit really well, last FOREVER, and are worth trying. Just don't go the bikini/thong/tanga route and you should be good.

Ok. I have a question.... Exactly what r spanks? Is that what they r called in the store ? I've spent so many years NOT shopping for clothes only grabbing the cheapest things from the clearance racks to get me through. Can't remember the last bra I bought for myself. Gotta go buy one now cuz of course the boobies were the first size down I have.

Spanx.com Super hold-her-in undergarments that magically smooth out every lump and bump while only slightly cutting off circulation. Light-weight and resilient. Godsend in the winter, kill-you-dead in a Texas or NY summer.

There are many rip-offs that are a lot cheaper and some of them work as well, but I do think Spanx are the gold standard in the modern day version of girdles.

Spanxs are thick spandex panties that work like a body shaper. They help smooth out the rolls of skin, and can even make you look a few sizes smaller. They are like girdle panties. I wear them with summer dresses and I can wear a Large. without them I look pregnant in an XL. They help conceal the access skin I am dealing with until I reach my goal and get plastics done.

What are Tanga panties?

some brazilian sh*t :) j/k They are thongs really but with a much wider band than the butt floss of usual thongs. Wider band up front as well make them look like almost normal panties from the front.

Thanks like I said, I'm not girly at all, and the thought of thongs just weirds me out completely. I avoid that area of the store all together. My husband says I have a phobia of thongs, and he thinks it's very funny to offer to buy them for me when people are within ear shot.

I swear by the Hanky Panky Retro Thong. The band totally holds in the tummy and zero panty lines. They are especially great with workout clothes like fitted leggings and yoga pants. I would never wear thongs before, but now wear these every day. The look and feel great.

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
