Pre-op Diet ..starving

I started my preop diet late last week and most days it is a struggle. I do fine all day then by nine I loose my mind. Yesterday I had a tooth pulled and I am in a lot of pain (dry socket I think) so I am on pain meds. I find that it is hard to not give in. I am cranky and the pain meds give me migraines. I haven't really cheated, but this week can't go fast enough :( . My surgery is the 23rd and I am down about 6lbs but I really hope it is easier after the surgery.

I don't know about your dr, but mine allows me to use unsweetened almond milk in my protein shakes. Try that and see if it helps..

For pre op diet my doctor says drink water at night, and that I can go crazy on cucumbers. Not sure if that helps...just an idea :-)

The pre op diet was the hardest part of the whole journey for me. I was one cranky woman! It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel while you are in the middle of it, but it will come and go....and you will be shocked at how fast everything goes by. Good luck! :)
