Nausea & Vomiting - 9 Days PostOp

Hi everyone! I've been having issues with vomiting for the last 3 days. Any advice or experiences would be helpful...

I've not been able to hold down ANYTHING. No cold or hot liquids, Protein shakes, Water, Powerade, etc. etc. Even after two small sips, it will come up after 20 mins. Seems like its not getting to my new stomach. As if it just gets stuck in my esophagus.

My surgeon sent me to the ER yesterday for treatment of nausea, for some IV fluids and a CAT Scan. I felt a little better. But, I vomited again 10 mins after coming home, and two more times this morning after sipping on apple juice. The hospital sent me home with Prevacid and Zofran prescriptions. I'll be picking them up this afternoon. I hope I can keep them down.

Any help?? :-)

My PPIs certainly helped with nausea but I still get it. I would say, be sure to get your liquids in. If you can't keep down the Protein right now, just focus on the liquids.

Then, once you get your liquids under control try a few different Proteins. To be honest, I still can't do protein. So, I feel your pain with that. Hopefully you'll find one that works for you.

Gatorade helps

Thank you all for the replies. I'm back in the ER after 2 days. They're going to admit me for dehydration due to the vomiting, high sodium levels and testing.

Keep me in your prayers please!! :-)

Let us know how you're doing.

I will be discharged once I'm able to hold down oral meds! So, hopefully today or tmrw. ;-)
