Sorry to hear about your back pain. I have a pain under my left side that makes it hard to relax on my side. It developed after I had my first belly laugh last evening. In general I haven't slept well since surgery and hope this will pass. Today, I plan to walk, walk, walk and hopefully the pains will subside and I will be more tired? Who knows.

Is it gas? I had terrible pains in my shoulders and lower back for the first 2 weeks post op. Some of the pains would make me cry! Nothing helped..I tried Gas X, Tylenol, and even the Vicodin prescribed. It's probably not what you want to hear, but it will eventually go away. I walked and waited...I hope you feel better soon!

Sounds like gas pain. Try walking more if you can. I had gas pain for weeks. It was literally my entire torso (back, shoulders, chest under the rib cage).

sleeping was rough but I'd get up and walk every time I couldn't sleep. Give it time and it will stop hurting so bad.

I am 16 days post op, and have been feeling great. Last night, I developed a stretching like pain in my left side after i went for a walk...i used a heating pad and that seemed to help. Today I have leftsided back pain.....I am burping a lot so I am wondering if it is gas?

I 2 had the back pain starting on day 9.I think its due to sleepy uncomfortably on a couch or n a recliner. I finally gave in and tried very slowly and laid on my tummy. Omg the feeling was amazing. It didnt hurt and it was uncomfortable. That was the best sleep ive ever had. But I get the back pain still especially when I go for walks. I think it has to do with posture. We sit differently so our incisions dont hurt then when we fet up to walk it causes back pain. Well thats what I think it is. Hope urs is getting better

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
