I am now 8 months out and without a doubt this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have had amazing support from my family and without my husbands continual support this would not have been possible. I had my sleeve done in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia I am an Australian and have been here now two years. When I decided I needed to do something drastic I went to IMC and sought out the baraiatric centre and made enquiries to see the surgeon. Dr Bukhari was the most amazing doctor. He said he would only do the sleeve and asked me to have a few tests done to make sure everything was ok to proceed. I had the tests done at the end of November and had my operation in December 2012. No pre op diet, no psych tests just let's do it. Dr Bukhari has had the operation himself so can really relate to everything I was going through. The operation was very easy and I have had no complications. I go for check ups every three months, where I have blood tests done to ensure I am getting enough vitamins, iron etc all of which are perfect. I even came off my blood pressure medication about the months ago. To anyone who is contemplating having this procedure done JUST DO IT! Hi denise33. Just be positive and you will have success. It is not a bad thing. You just need to be ready to adapt to your new way of life. It is just the same as before but in smaller doses. It is the best thing ever
