  • By far the easiest, post-op friendly chicken recipe I have is to throw chicken breasts in a crockpot cover with chicken broth and seasonings to taste and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6. Dump

  • I've made this a few times now and it's really good! The whole family loves it And, since it's done in the crockpot, it falls apart when it's done... http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/2010/12/cro

I was told by my bariatic center to stay away from chicken breast and go towards skinless boneless chicken thighs - does the breast meat in the crock pot come out just as moist or should I stick to my thighs?

Well I would certainly follow whatever rules your surgeon has in place. I get the idea that the thighs are moist but they are not as healthy as the white meat. I personally do NOT eat dark meat chicken, it has a much higher fat content. But that is just my preference. As I said. cooking the breasts this way makes them very moist and very post-op friendly.

I was sleeved July 16, 2013 and am now eating soft foods. I feel so blessed to be able to eat my favorite chicken. I made a chicken in the crockpot and I have been eating those roasted chickens from the grocery stores. I am also back at work and am needing easy recipes. These are some great ideas. Thanks
