Do light weights lose slower?

I think that is the general consensus, but keep in mind that 20 pounds coming off someone who is 220 vs. someone who is 320 is going to be more noticeable because it is a higher percentage of loss. Also, you will be closer to your goal weight than those who have more to lose AND less saggy skin. So don't fret...I wish I was a light weight, but I am not and must go the long road.

Yes... life is unfair.

Women lose slower than men too.

If you lose a whole bunch in pre sugical fast, may lose more slowly in the weeks after surgery, too...

The only guarantee is that you will lose as fast as you can lose... just stick with it.

I believe the closer you are to a goal weight or to what your body believes is a good weight.. The slower you lose. I think it's your body's way of saying "I'm hanging on to what I can"

I think generally that's true but not in my case. A lot of lightweights lose faster than me. Even with working out, my metabolism is slower than average. I bought a bodymedia which is a sensor put on my arm that calculates how many calories I burn throughout the day. I burn about 300 calories less than what the online calculator says I should. I'm thankful for this little device so I can adjust my intake a accordingly.

Ditto! I had over 200 lbs (at my starting weight) to lose and I have discovered even with so much to lose, I am really a slllloooowww loser. It sucks so much sometimes to see people with less than 100 lbs at their start fly through their weight loss.

On the up side, I've noticed that because I'm losing slower than a a turtle, I'm having time to correct skin issues along the way. I don't wake up and am down so much that I am fixing things after the fact...nope, day by day I am seeing changes (even though they're small) and can do up-keep as needed.

Also, I wish this was not so commonly well known, I think because most of us with a lot to lose hear this, we automatically think something's wrong with us because surely we "should" be losing faster. This is the stuff of headaches and frustrations.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
