Ready Set Go!

Well I've bought our tickets for San Diego! Surgery set in TJ for August 31, 2013. Plan on turning this new journey into a mini vacation before and after. I'm so excited to be having my surgery with Dr. Illan and meeting Omar. My loving husband of almost 27 years (wow) will be going with me on this journey. I thought Mexico, no way, until I read everyone's experiences and talked to some by phone. I can actually have this surgery and it's not a dream anymore! I'm already planning (wanting) to start playing golf, run/walk in the Turkey Dash for the homeless shelters in Roanoke VA, go to a waterpark next year and ride all the slides and I haven't even had my surgery yet! LOL! I'm so pumped to get this started. How about you? {{HUGS}} to all :)

I'm leaving for San Diego in the morning (from Houston). I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday morning. Like you, my first impression of doing this in Mexico was negative but I have found so many positive comments I am REALLY looking forward to it all. Feel free to contact me directly, especially after I return next Friday, in case you have some specific questions about the journey that I might be able to answer. I am using a different doctor and hospital, but the process should be similar. Good luck!!!

I'm right behind you... Surgery on Thursday. I can't believe next week at this time I'll be post-op and on my way home from Mexico. Wishing you an uneventful surgery, and a smooth and comfortable recovery. ((((Hugs))))
