Constipation!

Heh......never thought I would start a thread using that term! I know it's common, I haven't had a =movement= in three days. I started taking Metamucil, I've even taken a laxative and nothing is a happening!

What items have you guys tried with success to keep things moving regular?

I still take 2 Senna S in the morning and 2 at night. Also...drink LOTS of water! Helps keep things moving. I am supposed to start using Mirilax instead of the Senna S, but I want to be home when I start using it, just in case it works well. Hopefully this weekend or next I will add the Mirilax to my regimen and start weaning myself off of the Senna S. That's the plan anyways... :)

I take a stool softener three times a day and it has been working. I usually take it after my meal.

After taking MOM, dulcolax and no effect, I tried smooth move tea at night and was very, VERY effective next morning!

I will forever be grateful to the inventor of Milk of Mag! That has been my friend here lately along w gas x strips.

Amen!

MIralax - or the Walmart equivalent - every day. I saw someone else posted about smooth move tea and I'm going to ask my dietician about it. I used that before and it worked well too.

Milk of Mag = MOM! hehe

MOM will make ya feel better.

I VOTE FOR MOM.....Miralax did NOTHING FOR ME, even with double dosing...........MOM Take it and RUN............... seriously if you wait as long as I did to get RELIEF!!!!!!!!! THE RUN is WORTH IT............ I now know what $hitting a BRICK means...........or HAVING one STUCK........... MOM is my FRIEND!!!!!!! and she will be YOUR friend TOO............ ((HUGS)))

I drank more water & took a stool softener. Relief came in a day or 2, was back to normal within a week.

I had to use a suppository Sunday. My surgery was last Monday. The meds give me constipation. I felt sooo much better. Hope this helps.

Cherries worked like a charm the other day. Best relief I've had yet!

MoM works a little but can't stand the taste. Stool softener are meh. Gummy Fiber chews help but can cause rebound constipation when you stop them. That's no fun either.

I use 1 cup of smooth move decaf tea every third day if I haven't gone. Works within 12 hours and is pretty gentle.

I use the same thing! It doesn't taste that great but I've used it for years so it doesn't bother me but to someone new I would suggest adding a little honey to it.

I use this stuff called Regular. It's all natural and I take two at night with a cup of tea. It's best for keepings regular, not so great for dealing with severe constipation until that has been resolved. It's a maintenance thing to prevent you from becoming constipated.
