Just got the call, 9 am check in time on Monday. Good luck to all of us going in on the 19th! And thanks again to everyone posting their August sleeve stories and updates.

I'm also day 4! Pay attention to the fluids you're taking in. My body isn't agreeing with plain Water or crystal light/Mio. I get those bubbles and heartburn. Walking eases the pressure. Try diet V8 splash. It goes down smoothly.

Hi fellow August sleevers! I had my surgery yesterday at 11:45 and was discharged around 2:00 today. Getting in and out of bed has been the hardest! I'm one of the lucky ones that can get fluids down no problem. I hope it stays that way!

Wishing everyone a speedy recovery!

Woop! I'm August 27th, just started my pre-op pure liquid diet and I swear, I'm hittin the bathroom every 2 hours. It's torture but I know it's worth it. I'm already seeing my face, thighs and stomach slim down. The first day was horrible, so much gas D;.

I think its almost like trial and error lol! Crystal light gives me masssssiiiivvvveee heartburn! I have moved on to pureeds....it felt terrible the first couple of days but its getting easier. I have been eating baked potatoes and they are yummy. Plus rotisserie chicken with gravy. Just gotta chew it up right away! It will get better! SO happy for you my sleeve sister!

Im having a tough time. Very hard to take any pills and throw up on liquids. :( I feel sooo weak. And my head is constantly throbbing. Also anytime I burp it hurts :( any suggestions? Surgery was 8/14/2013.

To bigbolo, don't get discouraged. Stick to a 1200 call diet. I've lost 10 lbs in 1 week. What really helped me is an app called "lose it". I log everything, you can scan your food like when you drink a protein shake or bar and you can also search them. I didn't realize how just logging the stuff and knowing what you put in your body helps. And of course after losing 10 in 1 week it just gives me the motivation to keep going. Goff luck to you!!!

At Reno, the pills you can crush them, of course not if they are coated or capsules. You could also find out if they have them in liquid or chewable form. Tell your surgeon about the throwing up, you have to be able to keep something down. For the gas/burping get some gas x changes or strips, that really helps.

Good luck to you!!

Nat I'm on purée soft mushy food. How did you prepare the baked potato and chicken? I am allowed to eat unlike most 3day post ops are still in liquid, wondering if that will slow down my weight loss

You don't know just how lucky you have it Nat!!! Lol I can't tolerate jello or chicken broth. The thought of it is disgusting right now! I'm looking forward to these following weeks.

On a good note: I'm down 14 pounds since surgery (8/12) and 23 total. So that feels amazing!!! Yay! This loser's bench is pretty cool.... Hehe ;-)

Yikes! Throwing up large amounts of blood?? Just when I think I've got my head in a good place about this thing, some poor soul such as yourself pipes up to remind us that recovery can be pretty dramatic. So glad to hear you're doing better! :)
