Just found out

I just found out that my insurance has approved me. I do not have to do any 3-4-5 or 6 month supervised diet. Insurance just wants psych eval, nutrition visit and dr visits. I've filled out all my paperwork and insurance only needs detailed diet attempts and primary dr letter of concern. My Bariatric dr is a 2 hr drive for me. So they e-mailed me the forms to fill out and e-mailed them back. Once my coordinator gets all the ducks in a row, she will schedule an appointment for a physician consult, psych eval, and nutrition class all in one day.

It should be by mid August 2013 when my procedure happens. I will keep you updated. My preference is the gastric sleeve.

Hi, you sound similar to me. I am 3 1/2 from my surgeon, called for appointment on the end of April and lucky me Dr had something open for May 2nd, they called my insurance and I had the same news. I just went yesterday for my 3 appointments(psych eval, nutrition visit and to the cardiologist for my letter of recommendation) every thing went well with a little concern from the cardiologist because my heart is to fast, so now going for a stress test on Thursday June 13 just to be safe. My pre-op is July 8 so I need to have everything done soon. Hopefully surgery middle of July.

That's great to hear. I hope I can get mine done around August because the program fee is a $1000.00 and I need time to save up. Not to mention the co-pay office visits. On top of that, my husband's company is closing so we have insurance till the end of December 2013. So I think everything will be ok. Good luck to you

Well things have changed. I now live in the New Port Richey area as my husband was offered a position with his current job to relocate to the NPR area. So we moved. Now I'm 35 miles away from the hospital site much closer than before. Super excited! And my surgery date is the 25th of September.
