Headaches! HELP!

Hi everyone,

I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow and for the last 3 days I have been experiencing very bad headaches. I haven't taken anything because I'm afraid to swallow any pills and my doctor said no Advil, Morton. Etc.. Think ill give my doc a call tomorrow to ask him what I can take.

I'm having about 300-400cals a day and drinking lots of Water.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Try liquid Acetaminophen. It is ok to take that. I'm sorry about the headaches. Check in with your doc tomorrow to make sure it's not something bigger but may just be lack of calories. I hope so.

I am 3 months out and if I get headache I still take the liquid. It seems to cut the pain within 5-10 minutes. I will probably keep some the liquid around. Even though I don't like the taste it does it better than the pills.

Good luck and hope you feel better!

Thank you for recommending the liquid Tylenol. I don't think about that. Headed to CVS to get some ASAP. Yes I think it might be the low cals mixed with extreme heat in Cali.

Thanks again for your help!

Where on Cali are you from? I'm in Clovis and its been 110 degrees. Sorry about your headaches:(

You may want to add in one of the low calorie gatoraide or powerades for electrolytes so your body can better use the water you are taking in. I live in Florida and my doctor told me to drink atleast one bottle a day as part of my water in take.

I had a raging headache one day and had a big protein drink and it subsided almost immediately. Are you getting enough protein in with your water? I was afraid to take anything either. Almost resorted to a pain pill it hurt so much.
