I'm 20 days post-op and have only lost 15 lbs. The first week I lost 13 and the last two I have lost a total of 2. Really getting frustrated with myself. I don't regret the surgery, but sometimes I think "why the hell can't I eat what I want if I'm not losing and it's a stupid choice". The plus side is my diabetes is under control and that usually makes me see the bright side. What can I do to lose weight? I'm tired of being told "it don't just fall off" and I'm aware. I have lost a total of 50lbs since Feb and I worked hard to get the first 35 off!

Do you use my myfitnesspal?

If we could review your food diary and fitness log, we might be able to give you a few pointers if you think it might help.

Can I eat or drink before pre op visit....if not how long are restriction. Do I continue to do my daily Vitamins before pre op. I don't have my gallbladder, so that is not part of this pre op.

Also, how do you get enough Protein during clear liquid post op diet. what is the substitute is not shakes?

I'm not sure I understand--you've lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks, but you are worried you aren't losing weight? Do you mean bc 2 of that has been in the last 2 weeks and you feel that it should be quicker? It is very common in week 2 or week 3 for your weight loss to slow down a bit as your body adjusts. Just keep getting in at least 60-80 g of protein/day (or whatever your surgeon recommends) and and at least 60 to 80 oz of Water a day. The scale will catch up! Try to weigh only once a week if you can...easier said than done. Hang in there--your progress with diabetes and 15 lbs in 3 weeks is GREAT! When was the last time you lost that much in that amount of time, knowing you would keep it off?

I am 32 days post-op. I did not lose any weight for 3 full weeks then this last week I lost 5 lbs. It will start coming off. Try not weighing yourself. Good luck!

Seriously? It doesn't just fall off...it takes time...everyone is different. And you will hit stalls. Stop weighing yourself. Go by how you feel...how your clothes fit. Numbers suck, ask anyone who takes math. Also, btw...the slower you lose the weight the better your body adjusts. You will get there. Good luck! :)

most people say when the pounds stall is when the inches fall - so your body may be rearranging for the 50 you've lost and there are other ways to measure. It's dfficult, I know, and I was in that - if it doesn't come off anyway why can't I eat what I want - had that issue with the band. being revised in two weeks...

Hoping to have better luck with this.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
