Is it just me, or do the blender balls tend to get caught on everything when washing them? I do absolutely nothing, and I find two blender balls wrapped up in each other or stuck in the dishwasher tines! I have one stuck in the dishwasher top rack that I haven't had the patience to detangle for months! Agggh! They need to come up with a better design!

Can't you just wash them by hand?

There are little baskets with lids you can buy to put small items in when washing them in the dishwasher. It would keep them from getting tossed around by the spray and caught on things. Maybe one of those would help?

Lol.. The ball inside of a blender cup.

Instead of using a real blender, its a cup that you shake and the wire ball helps mix the powder..

Does your dishwasher have a basket-like contraption to hold silverware? The one in my dishwasher can open from the top--the part that holds the silverware lifts like a lid--and I just put the wire thingies in there and snap the lid shut before running the dishwasher. Mine looks something like this one:

In other news, "Freakin' Blender Balls!" is my new favorite almost-curse-word.

I just put some hot water and a drop of Dawn in my cup, close the lid, and shake like mad with the ball inside. Rinse and put upside to dry.

My Blender Bottle is similar to this one and it foams a little bit. It seems to depend on how much empty space is in the bottle before I shake it. If there's not much Water in the cup (if I'm only blending 8 oz. instead of 12), it foams up a little more. The foam dissolves pretty quickly, though.

It definitely eliminates unmixed powder in my shakes.

What Aaron said, I just put some boiling hot water in the bottle, a drop of soap, and shake-shake-shake, sparrkling clean. When I have used the dw machine it never seems to get into the rims etc and I'm left with crusty chocolate scum :/

Hand washing would be good for one, but I've got four everyday to wash, sometimes more on top of the other dishes, so I shove everything in the dishwasher after loosening any crusty stuff on the lid by running a knife around the edge. Unfortunately, my silverware section is too narrow to fit the balls in and I don't have the other baskets since I'm the second owner of the dishwasher. They don't even have to get to the dishwasher though- 3 or 4 blender bottles taken apart in the sink dishwater, I've reached in to find 2 blender balls entwined like someone spent time twisting them together! When it happens a few times it's fine, but over the course of a year it gets soooo annoying. We'll have even more blender bottles soon with me having my surgery this June- my husband had his last July. Oh well, at least we know we're getting our protein in! Thanks for the advice!
