Paying and this site

I believe that if we need support for this surgery we should not have to pay for it. By paying to use this site will open up the flood gates for other free sites to start charging people too. If you start doing this now it will set a dangerous precedent for other sites to start charging their users for a service that is only beneficial for them. I know people dont like complainers but i feel that my voice needs to be heard.

Alex NEVER said anything about charging to use the site. He said "premium memberships" are soon to come. Typically premium memberships are not much more than ad free viewing and maybe a few extra smil

http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/80457-let-me-pay-to-not-see-ads/ I agree with you, LJ. The support we have each found here is important and a key factor in the way we adjust to the surgery.

I agree with you, LJ. The support we have each found here is important and a key factor in the way we adjust to the surgery. Like you, I hope all the great features of this site remain free of charge to all of us.

Maybe you misunderstood. My impression was if you don't pay you get the same site as it is now and if you want to pay to be a premium member you won't be exposed to all the annoying ads.

Let's not jump on the bandwagon until its explained to us.. Or in other words.. Let's not stir up $ H I T where there ain't any.

I hope it is that way but they should explain ideas and see how people respond before doing IMO.

so, explain it to us already

If you're asking me.. I can't. Nothing has been said to explain anything. A few words were said and everyone took it in different directions. Jeeze Louise.. Y'all calm the hell down and let Alex bring it all to light when he's ready. It's his site and he can do as he dang well pleases. Granted, it would behoove him to listen to our comments/suggestion/opinion regarding the changes, but he doesn't have to. I say, he'll listen to us a lot more if we are a lot less aggressive and hear him out.

I think everybody should drink a protein shake and calm down a bit...

Hey now! No reason to bring LOGIC into this...

Alex NEVER said anything about charging to use the site. He said "premium memberships" are soon to come. Typically premium memberships are not much more than ad free viewing and maybe a few extra smilies. He is finding ways to give people the ad free viewing they want and at the same time continue to generate the revenue needed to maintain the servers this forum rides on and pay for all the bandwidth we all consume. And really for all he has provided would it be so bad for there to be a few dollars left for him to enjoy?

I hope that is true OTR but to me and a lot of other people on here it seems like premium = paying. Since it has not been clarified that is the way it comes across.

Yes I'm sure if you'd like a premium membership the will be a fee. However if you chose not to subscribe to premium you would still have full access to the forum just not the premium features. In all likelihood standard membership(free) would not change much from what you experience now.
