Does anyone else have very low energy? I was sleeved on 5/3 and feeling good. Having a hard time trying to eat soft protein. I feel tired towards end of the day.

Are you taking your vitamins and getting in enough water? My energy levels drop dramatically if I don't take my B12 daily. I also would look to make sure you're eating enough food. At least 70 grams of protein are required and, contrary to popular belief, all carbs are NOT evil. Good carbs (in veggies and whole grains) are required for energy, although they should be eaten in moderation. I've also found that I have more energy when I exercise more. It seems silly, but working out recharges me. Good luck!

HI Tbom That is exactly me also. I am 6th March 2013 and have the same syptoms. I have little to no energy and just cant eat protein. I feel my hair is even thinner than normal also.I actually worry about not eating very much, I don't think people can live on so little protein but bonus I have lost heaps of weight. yay!!!!!!!

You may want to buy "new whey". It packs 42 grams of protein in a 3.8 bottle. It's also loaded with Vitamins. That should surely help.

I'm not eating enough I start to feel sick so I don't force it. Scared too how can I live on so small amount of food? I need to just make sure I stay hydrated take my vitamins and try to get more protein in.

I had the same problem with super low energy. I was sleeved April 10. I had to (gulp) continue with the protien shakes and use whatever food I could tolerate as a bonus. After a day or so back on the protien I felt MUCH better! Good luck!

i dont understand some of these answers. I was also sleeved on may3, and I was told not to even take any vitamins except b12 sub lingual. I struggle to get those god awful protien shakes in. I absolutly cannot drink any diet crap, it just reeks of chemicals, water makes me nautious, and we are not allowed to eat, so I am very low energy and to make it worse, i lost 22 pounds prior to surgery and ow after 2 more am at a stall. Not regretting, just frustrated. would love some insight as well

I was sleeved 12/19/12, my energy level was pitiful until about 3-4 months out. It will pick back up, just follow your docs instructions and even if you're tired try and get some walking in. This is a wonderful new chapter in our lives, even with the rough patches. Best wishes to all :-D

I found I could get chicken soup in quite early on and am now putting fish in Asian soup bases, lean mince in tomato soup bases, eating yoghurts with (unflavoured) protein powder and some puréed fruit and now making a slightly runny scrambled egg - all much nicer than those awful choc, strawberry and vanilla protein shakes. I can tolerate the coffee shakes, but all the other flavours make me feel nauseous. Just add a little extra water or skim milk, use your blender/stick to purée well and (if necessary) strain out any lumps/bits. I was sleeved 29 April and started this at the end of my second week but could have managed a few days earlier I'm sure... My dr is very conservative and I like it that way! Good luck.

You are the first person I've heard of who was told not to take vitamins. I would check again with your doctor especially if you are having trouble getting protein in. Keeping hydrated is really important and can really zap your strength. Is there any liquid you can tolerate?

Me too. I had to attend a pre op class that later all day but very informative. They could stress enough the importance of the vitamins. I just bought my starter liquid vitamin set with all the required vitamins. I figured liquid wise would be easier. I also bought smart water that has electrolytes. I may be sipping but I will sip water with the added electrolytes to help prevent dehydration. In addition, I'm not a fan of the protein shakes so I bought "new whey" that is packed with 42 grams of protein in only 3.8 ounces. 2 a day will help a lot at least in the first few months. I figured that when I get to the purée stage I'm going to focus on eating high protein. Ie chicken purée..
