In the end, you gotta do it for you. You deserve the best and you certainly deserve the best quality of life for yourself. Taking care of yourself first will reap the benefits you want. I wouldn't go

In the end, you gotta do it for you. You deserve the best and you certainly deserve the best quality of life for yourself. Taking care of yourself first will reap the benefits you want. I wouldn't go through this for anyone but me. If it gets me that look from an attractive lady or two at the mall, I certainly won't complain!

Hey nikki how r u feeling??? Hope ur hanging in there!!!! I really feel that way too....I've started over completely and now ima just focus on that i can't to begin again....:) how's the sleeve life so far???? Are u still having gas pain??

Hey new life...I'm getting a lil better, still having gas pains but I'm ok just taking eveything really slow. I just can't wait to feel normal. Its been a challenge to get in liquids, vitamins and meds. I don't want to vomit so I sip slow. So I'm basically hanging in there following my dr's orders. Even went for a slow stroll outside today

I'm so sorry for your losses - just a thought: sometimes God means "not right now" but we mistakenly hear "no" - miracles are possible. And if he meant "not this way", there are many kids waiting to be adopted and I'd bet you'd make an excellent momma. Hang in there!

On the flipside of guys, I read here just the other day about a woman that told her man she was having the surgery and he told her "I only date fat girls" - you're right, if he's not considering the woman inside first he doesn't deserve you!

Don't dwell on your past - unless it's an uplifting memory don't waste your time on it. You have enough to keep your mind occupied learning this new lifestyle we're entering. Concentrate on the wonderful future that is waiting for you, the NEW IMPROVED happier excited-about-life you.

I used to live in Burlington NJ back in the 80's. I'm from Ohio but I know reside in SW Florida!!

Thanks so much!!! I needed to read this today and i feel a lot since posting this learning not to dwell and move forward i started a new life already right now before surgery even is here IM MOVING FORWARD!!! BEING POSITIVE AND GETTING READY TO REAP THE BENEFITS OF HARD WORK!!!!! THIS IS OUR JOURNEY CAN'T WAIT TO WALK THE PATH!!! TODAY IS A NEW DAY:)

I'm scared of the exact opposite. I do have high self esteem now because over the years ive come to realize I'm a beautiful pleasantly plump woman. Im worried that when I lose weight I wont have as much confidence as this is merely a health change for me. I am not attracted to other women and feel everyone is beautiful but I think if I was attracted to other women I would go for a bigger woman because I just think bigger women are better looking. Ive had the exact opposite experience with men, men who say they like women with curves (but who knows they can say to a thin woman they like women thin). I'm also engaged to a man who met me at my current size and while he says he loves me and will be behind me 100 percent I cant help but to think he chose me for a reason, what if he no longer finds me attractive after weight loss? What if I no longer find myself attractive? Has anyone had these issues or thought about these things pre op?
