2nd day post op... blah

Well it's day 2, and I have hit my wall. I was feeling great, went for a longer walk and BAM I feel like the truck that run over me turned around re ran over me. I had hernia repair and I thing most of my pain is stemming from that! I do have a question for all of you, how much fluid should I be able to drink before I leave the hospital. So far I have only been able to take 1.5 oz in about 3 hours. I know thats not much. They keep telling me I can leave tonight, but am seriously thinking I need to stay until tomorrow. Also have any of you had problems urinating right after surgery. Just another side effect I am having.

2nd day was rough for me just concentrate on doing for u sip walk sip whatever you can

Don't get discouraged. Day 2 was awful for me too. I'm on Day 4 now, and I feel so "normal". Do you still have an IV? If so, don't worry about how much you're drinking, you'll have plenty. I didn't have problems with urinating. In fact, I was so uncomfortable in bed, I went to the bathroom constantly for something to "do"! Hang in there...I promise it will be better very soon!

your gonna be just fine. Keep walking keep sipping.

I had a problem peeing too. SO bad in fact that after I came out of recovery and I was sleeping in my room and had to go so I woke up and I went to the potty couldn't go, falling back asleep and some time after that ended up having to pee the bed. It was the only way I started being able to pee on my own. I was so tired and out of it I kinda forgot I had done it until I was fully awake a few hours later. I was so embarrassed.

But yeah I had problems peeing for a few weeks. It just seemed to take longer for it to start the stream.

Thanks everyone! I hit my wall today where they say your inflammation is at its highest, and let me tell you it was AWFUL!!!! They gave me torodol and decradon and I feel 100% better! I was still only able to get in 3 cc of liquids in today but I still have my IV in so tomorrow's goal is to get my fluids in. Hopeing to go home tomorrow!!! Thanks for the kind words and encouragement!

I was still sipping when I left the hospital. Took a couple weeks to actually get a few ounces in Hang in there!
