1. Oh yeah, def no bun! Too much!!
2. I agree with Lipstick Lady... full sugar Powerade or Gatorade. Thats all I drank right after surgery because water and CL just made me sick. So I got uber dehydrated and constipated. Once I got a few of those in me I felt a lot better... get some Gatorade and call the doc...
3. I am five months out and have had them off the grill several times. I can only eat one of course lol... but yes. They go down pretty easily for me. I can pretty much eat anything except for eggs... eggs are very iffy for me...
4. Thanks guys!! I hope I can be an inspiration to all the newbies on here. It has its ups and downs but so far its worth it!
5. Surgey date: 3/20/13 Surgery Weight: 349 Current Weight: 283 When I look in the mirror I still look the same. But when I look at this...
6. Stevia is by far the worst lol... Truvia is quite nasty as well.
7. Ive come to realize that the only artificial sweetner I like is Sweet n Low. Everything else has a bolder aftertaste thats yucky to me, especially Splenda. I was just wondering which one you all prefer??
8. Fp, I rode the Kracken at Sea World! It was awesome! & I realized that 54 pounds ago, I wouldnt have fit!
9. I had a BLAST on my 2 part vacation! I ate SO many carbs, drank PLENTY of cocktails, ate LOTS of sugar, exercised 0 times, didn't lose an ounce, but I didn't gain either! I danced the night away and rode a roller coaster for the first time in over 10 years. Love my sleeve! Back to reality now though lol. Now I'm back home and ready to get back in the gym!
10. Im officially 3 months out as of the 20th and yesterday my scale weighed me at 288.8. I was 349 day of surgery so I couldnt be happier with my sleeve and my new way of life. We are about to leave and go on vacay for 2 weeks (home to visit family and drop the kiddos off with my mom, cruise to the Bahamas, couple days in Orlando, and then back to GA for the 4th) and Im feeling so confident and more sure of myself with every pound lost. Im working out the most I have my whole life! I actually packed workout clothes for my vacay! Im super excited for all my summer trips (Miami next month as well as high school reunion) and Im just feeling so good about life. In the back of my mind I still feel like its not gonna last but thats just years of self defeatist attitude I still need to shake. This sleeve was my saving grace! Loving my sleeve!!!
11. Tonight I went to thd gym intending to do a routine workout (35 min elliptical & some resistance machines) when one of the girls who works there kept badgering me about Zumba class. So I was all 'I'll think about it while Im on the elliptical.' I didn't want to go because I was scared I wouldnt be able to finish the whole hour. After my 35 min on the elliptical were up I grudgingly went to look at the Zumba class. Not only did I look, I participated and FINISHED the class!!! Wouldnt have been able to do that 55 + pounds ago!!! Loving my sleeve!!!!
12. I had one of those days today and Im almost 3 months out. Loving my sleeve tho!
13. Yes! I did as well!! I think it was anasthesia as well! I used Neutrogena cream cleanser and Clearasil cleansing pads twice a day and moisturized with Neutrogena moisturizer at night... It went away around week 6...
14. Sleeved March 20th! SW: 349 CW: 294 55 pounds gone forever!!!
15. My hubby DID NOT... I repeat DID NOT want me to have surgery... He has went through many emotional changes with me... We're doing well though. He's not as bad as I thought he was gonna be lol!
16. I really like MM Light Lemonade... Just had some today lol
17. I looked at Food Network the ENTIRE first couple of weeks after surgery... I thought I was so weird lol... It helped me deal with the loss. So glad I'm not the only weirdo lol :-)
18. These absolutely saved me from dehydration. Water sits really heavy in my stomach and crystal light and other sugar free drinks have a horrible aftertaste to me. I was drinking regular Powerade for a couple days to get fluids in but once I found these packets it was like the heavens opened up and I heard angels singing. They taste so GOOD!!! Just like regular Hawaiian Punch. So for anyone newly sleeved and looking for a flavorful & sugar free way to get in fluids this is the way to go! Sleeved 3/20 Down 48 pounds...
19. I went thru some pretty dark times myself as well. I'm 7 weeks out today and its amazing/funny to me how depressed I was around weeks 2-4. I would sit in the house all day and do nothing and cry and watch Food Network lol! It was my coping mechanism dont judge me lol. Something about looking at food all day made me a lil bit happier. It was uber weird!! And the constipation from not drinking enough! It was HORRIBLE!! I had to go to the ER for an enema and everything. And I was all 'I just wanna eat & **** peacefully!!!' And regretting this surgery big time. But fast forward to now, I'm feeling great! I can eat pretty much normal food now, I learned my lesson on SF drinks ( I HATE THEM & I don't like what artificial sweeteners do. I've already had a cancer scare in my life.) so I drink regular Powerade. Yeah it has more sugar and carbs than the low cal ones but honestly I'm not consuming a lot of anything. The weight will still come off. I've lost 40 lbs and like 7 inches since surgery on 3/20/13... Find what works for you! And get up out of the house! It WILL get better! And think of how much fun you're gonna have taking those lil ones to Disney World next year! I'm taking mine as well. That's my motivation in dark moments. Hold on to that! Love & light from me to u!!!
20. Went for my 6 week post op appt today and got great news all around. Doc is very proud of me. Down 39 pounds from surgery day. I got cleared to go to the gym and do strenuous activity so in the morn its on like Donkey Kong lol! And he cleared me for regular solid foods and I had half of a fajita tonite! (It was homemade on a low carb tortilla) I'm feeling great! Loving my sleeve!!!
21. I slept in an armchair for about 2 weeks... It was the only pain free way to sleep. I'm a stomach sleeper and we all know that wasn't happening after surgery. Bed was just too uncomfortable right out of surgery. I'm back in the bed now and sleeping on my stomach lol... I'll be 6 weeks on Wed...
