Cheating : 5 week's Post Op - Please Please Help

I am five weeks post op. I am meant to be on a Protein only diet and I have been cheating. Every morning I wake up and say I am going to stay on program but by 4:00pm I have fallen back into my bad habits. I have not eaten a meal and I am not hungry but I start picking off the kids plates and by 9:00pm realize all I have done is picked at foods (grazed) from 4:00pm.

I need a little help and advice. I know some people are thinking why have the surgery if your gonna cheat, I did not plan on cheating.

Anyone not able to dump bad habits right off to bat ?

(I have lost 25ibs)

Why are you waiting so long to eat something? That always makes me very head hungry by 4 and I would do the same as you!

It's going to be okay, this is new to a lot of us. Just keep drinking. Use your tool. That's what it is. Be strong. Have faith. Feed them meals you can eat too.and you won't be grazing.

I am going to set a timer and keep a log until it's just habit and maybe even then. You get three Protein heavy meals a day and two Snacks. Plan what you're going to eat (even make it before hand and keep it in the fridge so that it's ready!) and when, then stick with the plan, don't deviate! :) When you are about to graze, stop yourself, put the food back down and remind yourself why you're doing it.

Good luck!

It is hard to change from one day to another. We didn't gain all this weight overnight.

Try to eat Protein only. What helps me is making snack bags to carry with me when on the go. Then I have something to eat.

If you cheat, eat just a taste, not the whole plate. Don't deny yourself because you'll over indulge. But don't allow yourself to binge either.

It's a fine line to walk.

Thank you for all your responses. I never ate regularly, I skipped breakfast and lunch and normally started grazing once the kids are home from school. The timer and journal sounds like a good place to start. Thank you all again. I will try and focus. I know this tool is an amazing gift and I have to work at it for it to work.

Try my fitness pal. Most of us here use it
