I'm really just going to vent here. I am scheduled for surgery on April 8. I was told back in November that I had to lose a total of 75 lbs before I could have surgery, and I had to lose 60 of that 75 before they would schedule the surgery. I met the 60 lb goal. So I have 15 lbs to go. From November till last Monday I was on media fast. I started my 4 week pre-opt diet last Monday. I hear of so many people dropping pounds like crazy during their pre-opt diet. So I figured the last 15 lbs would be no biggie. WRONG!!!! The medi fast diet left me dehydrated with low potassium. Even though I drink Water like crazy. I can feel the effects of low potassium. The weakness, painful, fatigue, heavy legs. Sore arms, and but of course Constipation. Now my nutritionist wants me to drink between 96 and 140 oz of water a day!!! I am floating away.

I guess I am worried that this much water, and being constipated is going to cause me to weigh more or stop my loss. I would really hate to do all this work to lose 75lbs and not meet it. I'm so worried.

Thanks for listening to this worry wart. Everyone pray or send me good thoughts.

Praying for your success!! Actually drinkin a ton of Water will help you lose weight because you pee constantly!!!! When I first lost 50 pounds a few years ago, I would eat really spicy food and it would make me drink a liyer of water with each meal plus all the water between meals. I dropped weight quick! Good luck and congrats on the 60 pounds!

First off, I think if you have dropped that much weight ON YOUR OWN in that period of time, it is an AMAZING accomplishment! :D Secondly, I would ask if you ever tried No-Salt salt substitute. I remember on one of my many diets they said to make sure I use that because it is potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride and dieting depletes your potassium. But, if you are on a liquid diet, that probably scraps that idea unless you want to drink it in your Medi-Fast shakes (eww). I would guess you need to talk to your Dr. about a potassium supplement--are you not taking Multi-Vitamin supplements now?

keep some citrus in your diet, get totally off grains, and sleep in a normal day to day schedule, with at least 7 hours a night.

What an amazing job you have done so far!!!

Good luck!

I wish I could eat citrus. I'm on my pre-opt diet and can't have it.

venting is good for all - maybe even shed a few calories

glad you have a DOS April 8th

as others have said.....

what an amazing job you have done - 62 lbs down on your own!!!!!

drinking so much Water - will continue to help - 96 oz - OMG

keep drinking the Water - you have done so well with that - keep it up - you won't float away, promise

you will flush the water and lbs away - its gonna happen - maybe you are just at a "natural" stall

We've all been there, done that at one time or another

you are so determined - working so hard - you were told you must lose 75 lbs!!!!

you did it!!!!!

i can tell you will be so successful because you are determined and you "follow" orders!???rules :)

you know this is very hard for the rest of your longer, healthier, happier life

i don't have a question in my mind that you will be so successful - I am so happy that you've done so well, and trust me you will lose that additional weight

once you are sleeved - the sky is the limit!!!!!

up up and away!!!!!

keep up the terrific work

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
