Losing too fast?

At my two week post op appt the PA said I'm losing too fast and some of it must be muscle, which isn't good. I had lost 11# at that point. Anyway heard of this? I've never had to slow down my weight loss before!

You had WLS and you're told 10 lbs is too fast?? He would freak if he watched the biggest loser.

  • Sounds odd. Did they put you on a body analyzer scale and actually see the breakdown of fat vs water vs fat free mass?

If you go to your local Gym and meet with a trainer they usually have to tool your referring to it gives you your body fat %. I lost 17 pounds my first week and my physician did say anything was wrong.

They have at home scales that does this I have one from bed bath and beyond its a weight watcher scale

I do have the fitbit scale that syncs with my phone. It's just another sign of my obsession!

I lost 25 lbs at 11 days post op and my dr called me a rock star! 15 days post op and now down 35z

Oh my gosh! That's amazing! Keep up the work. I hope I lose that much. I got sleeved 6 days ago and only lost 6 lbs so far but I think I need a new scale. Mine sucks its different every time :(

Thank you! That comment made my day :) my husband went out to get a scale for me. He bought a $35 one which i told him he was crazy for lol but now im thankful for it. I think a trustworthy scalr is worth the money. Also on 6 lbs and 6 days postop, thats what i lost too!! My start weight was 318 so i was pretty high up there so idk of that has something to do with how fast im losing. But dont get discouraged. I have a friend from vst that was sleeved same day as me, start weight was 215 and she just hit 199 yesterday!!! So proud of her but her loss is def slower than mine. Everyone is diff!! We will all get there!!

I agree! My old one was kind of touchy, so right before my surgery I went on Amazon and ordered their highest rated, best selling scale. Soooo much more reliable!

I think I will do the same thing. Mine isn't digital and the needle bounces around too much!! :)
