March 7, 201313 yr Hi Tracy, I know I posted this before, isn't it a little early for the Preop diet when you are more than a month away? . I am considering Dr. Ortiz as well and I was told to go on it 2 weeks prior to surgery. Are there other considerations?. Your BMI doesn't seem that high. I am just wondering. Thanks for any feedback on this subject. Annie
March 8, 201313 yr Author Hi girls, I know in my paperwork it was explained to me that min 5% up to 10% weight loss is a must pre surgery as it reduces to fat around your liver. This is the organ they have to get around to get to your stomach. 5% for me is 12 pds and 10% is 24 pds. I was doing pretty good then I went off the rails for a few days. Back at it, I'm down 7 pds so far and I'm going to do the pre surgery diet shortly just to try to get more weight off. I know that this will make my surgery easier, my recovery faster, and help me get to my goal quicker.

March 8, 201313 yr I just called OCC today and I have adrenal fatique syndrome. I have to take medication for it so I may have to postpone my operation. I tried to lose weight before and it is hard. I was told to lose at least 10 pounds before the operation so the liver will be small during the procedure. I may not be able to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I talked to Dr. Miranda the diet doctor at OCC. I will probably get my surgery done in June when my son is out of school. I have to get my adrenal gland functioning again. Dr. Ariel Ortiz is an excellent doctor in Mexico I did my research on him and he is very well known for his procedures. You made the right decison by chosing him. I wish I could go on April 8, 2013 so then I can met up with you but I can't. I have to get my health back together first. Sincerely, Tracy Sellers
March 8, 201313 yr Good luck to you April Sleevers! I was there February 4 and feel really good. I would highly recommend Dr . Ortiz. The staff at the OCC have been very quick to respond to any post op questions. Good luck on the pre op diet too. All the best!

March 8, 201313 yr Yea! I am thinking about the middle of June right when my son gets out of school. I have to look at my calendar to plan it.
March 8, 201313 yr I am scheduled for April 15th with dr Ortiz at OCC. it seemed like a long way out until this week now it's becoming more real.
