constipation 5 mths out

So in order to break my latest stall i upped my protein by 25 gms or so for 2 wks. But the last 6 days ive not gone #2. So i took laxatives and so far not much luck. I average 60-65 oz fluid daily but i guess i need to add fiber right? What brand/type has worked for you?

The only thing that helps me is insoluble fiber. I eat FiberOne every day!

in for more replies....

My doctor's office wasn't too worried if I wasn't regular if I wasn't feeling like I needed to go. So I take a stool softener (Dulcolax) so that I don't strain when it is finally time to go. Otherwise if I need to go but can't they recommend a starting with a half dose of milk of magnesia or a glycerin suppository if you feel "stuck." Sorry to be gross. Good luck, we all feel your pain, literally!

Also for protein and fiber I heard Quest bars are good.

Chia seeds added to my shakes helped a lot but what has helped me more than anything after 9 months is a serving of Fiber One cereal everyday just dry....no milk. Just a half cup serving more than doubled my fiber intake without waking up my carb monster.
