Did I do something wrong?

Hi vsg friends...

I hope you all can help me with this.

A couple of days ago I lifted some cases of Water. Maybe an hour later I had some slight pain on my left side. I still have the right pain which is getting better. I'm just wondering if I need to be worrying about this. I'm almost a month post op and I was told by my dr. No heavy lifting for two weeks. The cases of water are only a little heavier than my two year old daughter.

What exactly can happen if you lift something too heavy?

Do you think I should be worried?

well, its hard to say, if it happened right after you lifted something its probably just a muscle issue. At a month post op my abdominal are not totally 100% yet and I think you had surgery about a week after I did. If you are worried about it or its not going away it wont hurt to give your office a call

I was told not to lift anything over 15lbs for 6 weeks. "Sight pain"? Are we talking about incision site? Quite possibly a torn suture. Unfortunately at this stage if it is, it will just be something you'll have to deal with. Because it would be too invasive to reopen an incision to replace 1 internal suture.

It isn't pain at any of my incisions. It feels more like a muscle pain. I had the same pain after surgery and the nurse said it was probably the angle at which the instruments went in etc. And supposedly I have a thick abdominal wall (whatever that means). It is getting better everyday and I barely feel it today.

Thank you everyone. I feel much better.
