Passport?

Good evening all. I'm new and would like to thank you all for sharing all your wonderful stories! I'm scheduled for surgery March 7 in TJ with Dr. Cabrera....I cry so much when reading all these posts cause I can't believe that may be me! Anyways, my passport was stolen and I reported it, but never replaced it. I'm being told conflicting stories about whether or not I can just use the birth certificate/ID combo....lemme know! Thanks :)

I wouldnt risk it, just apply for a new passport. I was told i had to had one when i went and the border patrol wanted to see it when we crossed back over.

I live about a 100 miles from the border in Texas, and cross over frequently to shop. I always bring both. Sometimes the border agents ask for my passport, some ask for my card. It just depends on the agent. So yes, I would bring your passport.

I went the "better safe than sorry" route and got my passport.

Ditto that. I'd hate to be the exception to the rule.... Unless I was stranded in the lovely PV or Cancun! Lol

What about an enhanced Drivers license? I'm also hearing conflicting reports on those. I want to schedule soon and just don't have the time to order a passport.
