Newly Sleeved Jan 23

Hello all. I originally posted in the pre-op section of the forum as I am a patience who had to go through this procedure alone with just family support by telephone. Well here is my update.

My surgery was Jan 23. I had a Hernia repair also but was still discharged in 2 days. I been able to drink all the Clear liquids on the allowed list. Water, chicken broth with Protein powder, Jello & popsicles. So far I been able to take in about 40-48 oz of liquids I have all my Vitamins and Pro-Stat protein liquid and so far I am able to take everything in without any problems. My only complaint is the gas. I found sitting in my recliner chair has provided me more comfort rather than lay in bed. I am taking Gas X Strips and I place a heating pad on my lower back and it has help released the gas pressure. I started out at 268 pounds. I was able to walk in the hospital and I am moving at home. It definitely takes a strong mental mindset to get through this alone especially when its time for me to give myself the injections. But I am so happy I had the surgery and I am doing this for my health and mental well being I refuse to not succeed. Good luck to you all. I had my surgery with Dr Wiljon Beltre in the Orlando area.
