Just sip sip sip. If you take to big of a sip your stomach will tell you. I was only getting maybe about that much when I got out. Try using ice chips or sugar free pops if that helps.

I agree with Cathy above - you literally have to sip water all day long at first. If you get dehydrated, you'll be back in the hospital! You won't have to do that forever, but do it now and take good care of yourself. Good luck!!

I am 1 week post op and I've been sipping every 10-15 minutes all day long and have had no problems being dehydrated. Get a baby sippy cup if you need, and keep it right next to you. It helps! :)

I was sleeved on the 31st as well and had the same problem. I actually did have to go back into the hospital yesterday to get IV fluids and steriods. I think my swelling was pretty severe. I wasn't able to sip any fliud without bad cramping. Today I'm feeling much better and taking tiny sips as often as possible. I also pureed some potato soup last night and took tiny sips of it and get a total of 1/2 cup down. I think that helped a lot. I hope this helps! good luck and keep sipping!
