4.5 to 5 pounds a week is great! Do NOT get hung up on the numbers this early on. Get rid of your scale ASAP...you'll drive yourself crazy!

Yes I think I do need to get rid of my scale . I think I weighed myself 3 x's today! Getting a little obsessive!

I speak from experience! I had to get rid of mine (had the husband hide it!) and I've been a MUCH happier person ever since!

Hmmm, according to your profile your goal is to lose 100lbs.

Let's get some perspective here. You are averaging 4.5 lbs a week. In 6 months there are 26weeks.

26x4.5=117 lbs @ current rate of loss. I think that is great.

Heck, even if your loss slowed by half it would only take 45 weeks (10.5) months to reach your goal.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think being able to remove what has taken years to gain in under a year is AWESOME!!!

Wow! Thanks for breaking it down like that. I'm getting rid of my scale tmw! And I will just wait to see how much I've lost and my next appt in three weeks!

Nice one. That's a much better headspace.

I really value this forum, but the one thing that's not so great is comparing losses to each other. We're all different and will lose weight differently. Good luck!

Shane

I have notices your post since i've been on this forum. I have to say your wonderful. You have probably helped so many people just by being positive.

I'm sure i'm just emotional but when I read how you broke it down for me I started crying. Your so right. Thanks so much.

calm down, it is WAY too soon to be making predictions like this. You just got sliced and diced, chopped and put back together. If you think think your not going to have traumatic swelling, and Water retention your crazy! lol

Also lest we not forget the IV fluids you had running!? Step away from the scale for a good two more weeks.

I agree 9 lbs is great! I was sleeved Nov 13 , 2012 , start weight was 237 , on the day of surgery I was 222 .. a week and half later I lost 7 lbs .......... and for almost 3 weeks the scale didnt move and I was in a panic just like you ........ I stoped looking at the scale as other sleevers adviced me , I am now 200 lbs on the dot .......... 37 lbs in a month and half is not bad at all .

be patient keep your mind busy and stay focused on what you consume ,, and put the scale away and weigh yourself only once every 2 weeks.

good luck

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
