Lactose Intolerance

Anyone have problems with lactose? I took all milk products out if my diet and I feel amazingly better! No nausea at all today and I'm able to get in more. I'm going to try the lactaid pills and see if it works since I'm a super picky eater. Although I had to stop all dairy when I nursed my kids, I'm more limited now with the sleeve.

Lactose intolerance is a common side effect of VSG since it removes the part of the stomach that helps deal with lactose digestion. Most folks post-op are lactose intolerant' date=' and some never gain the tolerance back. I'm a mix - I can have things like Ice cream and cheese, but milk and I are on a strictly platonic relationship. ha![/quote']

Same here!

Interesting never thought about that. I hope the lactaid works as I'm a cheese freak!

I can eat hard cheeses and greek yogurt. Now, more than a year and a half out I can have small amounts of other milk products. At first, they really tore me up.
