Vitamins Immediately?

Do you start vitamins immediately when you get home from the hospital? I came home yesterday and feel pretty yucky so have been focusing on trying to get water in before worrying about vitamins....

My NUT says no vitamins the first two weeks. Focus is on hydration. She says your stomach needs to heal a lot more than your body needs vitamins for two weeks.

My Doc had me wait a week before starting vitamins.

My surgeon's team told me not to worry about vitamins for a couple of weeks to just work on getting in fluids and some protein. :)

Every surgeon/NUT are different. I had to start the day I got home. Just focusing fluids and protien. You will start to feel better.

Indeed. Mine had me start chewables right after surgery. Don't tell my surgeon, but I keep forgetting them! I'm going to have to get in a routine to remember 3 calcium, 1 multi, 2 actigal, & 1 antacid (can't remember the name). I'm not really used to taking medicine other then my 1 a day blood pressure.

I've decided to treat my vitamins as a snack. 4 chewable calcium w/vit. D, one multi vitamin plus a Vit. B sublingual. I put them in a baggy and during the day when i feel the need to chew, they're right there! (I'm only on 1st week puree).today was the first day I got all my protein and my vitamins in in days! Hey, they're not chocolates but they are sweet!
