Help

I may just be working myself up over nothing, but I would appreciate it if anyone can confirm or put to bed my nerves. I am 5 days post-op.

I drank a Water bottle full of pineapple juice, diluted of course. Well, once I got to the end of the bottle I realized there was small flecks of pineapple pulp in the drink I had just consumed.

I feel my stomach gurgling and churning. Makes me nervous the pulp I just ingested is going to rupture something. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

You should be fine just this once. Don't make a habit out of it though. Pulpy juices and fruit isn't good for us early on. especially this early. Try not to worry too much. If you have any major pains or anything maybe call your surgeon's number and they'll contact them and let them know what's going on and he/she will get back to you. Otherwise try not to fret.

You shouldn't be having pineapple juice. During liquid stage the only juice you should have is diluted unsweetened apple juice. Good Luck

If anything is going to bother you about the pineapple juice, it would likely be the acidity, or possibly the sugar content that may not agree with you at this point. The bit of pulp is not a big concern - some surgeons' programs have their patients on mushes and soft proteins at this point, so your infant sleeve can handle a bit of pulp.
