Portion Size

I am always curious what people were eating and their portion sizes are at X many months. I thought I would share my dinner from tonight. I am just about 3 months post op.

I should note this is on a small plate. I put the regular dinner plate under it for reference.

Tonight's dinner is 1/4 of a stuffed chicken, asparagus and one tablespoon of cottage cheese.

I ate most of this with the exception of 1 asparagus and a bite or 2 of chicken.

Show us what you eat!

  • Stuffed chicken breast* Don't worry, it is cooked properly. The pink color is actually a reflection coming through the window from the leaves changing a beautiful orange.

For us pre-ops' date=' that bowl of food looks AMAZINgLY small![/quote']

It seriously does! I can't believe how tiny it looks! I can't wait to eat that and be full!

@urboyp thanks for posting your dinner from BJ's i was there for lunch today and ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer. I ate 3 for 150 cals. It was super! Not high in protein but I knew I would make up for it later- I will try your fish next time!

Yeah, the portions are small! I am just over 2 months out and wish I could eat more. Ian really hoping the amount of food I can tolerate increases as I am eating as much as I can and still losing weight quickly.

Some meals I am full with just a few bites. Socially it is awkward. I am very happy though with not ever being hungry. :)

I wonder how much more my sleeve will loosen over time.

Hello to all,i am 5 days post op,and I.feel so hungry, besides the.all liquid diet and the protein shakes arent.giving me enough, but I.will admit today I did eat one pce of a popcorn with no kernells(puff n corn)..that tasted very good.but I was in wrong for doing a.binge eating, although it wasnt healthyi.felt as if i can go ahead.to phase 2 or.should i jus wait until my.next appt 10/17..has anyone cheated on there post op after.surgery????

I am also 5 days post op and im on full liquid. My dr said as long as u can pour it its ok (thinned oatmeal, cream of wheat, yogurt). Have you tried thinned instant mashed potatoes? Two spoons thinned with skim milk fills me up like thanksgiving dinner (-:

I haven't had surgery yet, actually just got enrolled with the weight loss thing thru my insurance & am waiting for the nurse in charge of my case to call me for an apt. But I have talked to many people about portion size & how will I know how much is too much before I eat it & one of my customers had the Sleeve done in TJ,Mexico in December 2011 and she told me she went out and bought toddler dived plates and uses toddler silverware and she said it has helped her so much. When she would go to others houses or restaurant's for dinner she would eat too much and be miserable later so she now takes her plates with her. I thought this was a very good idea. I hope this will help others also.
