Really Random Question...guys Beware

Hi everyone. I feel really awkward about asking this one; but here goes.

My surgery is this Monday, the 1st. Yay! And I just got my period yesterday. Boo! First, I never thought about this before. But, can I still have surgery. I'm thinking blood loss. Yikes.

Also, they have me cleaning myself with those wipes the night before and the morning of surgery. Do I need to explain more? I can't imagine not properly grooming before surgery. Any advice? Sorry.

I lurk a lot. I see everything. Including this topic a few times.

  • They won't let you use tampon during surgery. Too much risk of infection. Not a big deal they have you use pads do if you don't want the horrible hospital ones bring your own.

This is really not an uncommon concern or occurrence. It's not a problem.

Dr will ask you to use pads rather than tampons.

Loved that u answered!

This is a good question and I wondered the same thing myself. Mine is excepted a few days after and I had concerns if it came early. My surgery is on the 2nd!! I wish you well!!!

:D I lurk a lot. I see everything. Including this topic a few times. :P

My period started the morning of surgery. They let me wear a tampon, and I actually would prefer that over a pad. I heard some people wear some type of mesh panty and a pad. I went comando.
