They should tell us to stay away from the scale for the first couple of weeks.

I just weighed myself 5 days post up and gained a pound! So happy to read that this is normal.

Either is scary when it comes to clots - the Factor V' date=' there's nothing to do except to not be over weight and eat healthy - my DOCs even said that an aspirin a day or coumidin wouldn't help..... you are lucky!!![/quote']

I don't have a clotting disorder but my surgeon gives heparin pre and post op as a precaution. He says that obesity puts many patients at risk....couple thtat with immobility the risk goes up. I also had leg compression devices post op when I was in bed. He was pretty strict about that.

Hey my "Fifties" people! Any updates? I was sleeved in August 2012. I am going through the longest stall ever! I'm happy to have started this journey but a little frustrated with myself right now. How's everyone else coming along? Need to hear from my age group;-)

Have my sleeve surgery June 19th, be glad once it's over, I don't have jitters yet not sure if I will get them, I'm so committed to this life change, portion control is what I need.

Be glad to do the things I use to do as simply as putting on socks or tying shoes with out passing out and looking like a pretzel trying to do this feat. I don't know how others feel but fifty to me is just a number and I want to live better and feel better, and my 54 birthday is June 13. Good luck to everyone on your journey in life , may the lbs shed and the laughter loud..... Peace

I'm glad you caught the humor in it, I laugh at things like that I can relate to, yep my shoe strings are from the side too. I just pre registered for surgery the 19th and met the nurses and they heard of my humor and they poured it on me... I fell in love again, but I had a belly laugh anyway.. Well good luck keep posting on how you are doing... Peace

Sounds like you gave yourself the best gift ever! How are you doing? My surgery is tomorrow. Can't sleep....too excited maybe? I want to sleep just to get it here! Anything happen that you didn't expect ? Or anything not happen that you thought would? I am 52....and I look at my age as a number too because inside I still feel like a kid!

Well it's going good all consider, I'm still in the hospital and having full liquids now; lost 21lbs ( I'm sure it's water) I'm hoping to go home, I'm still sore but the soreness is not bad. I'm not hungry, more like a thirst. I hope things go good for you and good luck on your progress and let me know how you are doing. Good luck

Hi everyone, I was sleeved on 6/26 and released on 6/28....I gained 11 pounds in the hospital due to all the fluids!! But here it is Monday 7/1 and I have lost that 11 and 2 more!! I am getting the hang of tracking all my fluids and proteins, getting them all in at least.....I am 49 and will be a much healthier 50 in September!!!
