  1. Hello Everyone...I had my surgery 8/17/2012. It was my new lease on life! My highest was 348 and since surgery my lowest has been 229...for me...amazing! Yes I want to lose more but...I too am sugar and carb addicted. I know there are some people who swear they will always follow the rules and do...I did. But I have also been struggling because of my need to have food and alcohol...socially and I love food. You can slip with the sleeve. Sometimes life gets in the way...excuses. But today...right now...I have to take charge and remember I eat to live not live to eat. I have to remember two years ago the pain I had physically and emotionally an how I was blessed to have a restart button. As an addict I must encourage my fellow addicts to remember who you were and how we hoped and prayed for the ability to walk without pain, play with our kids and/or grand kids, shop in the regular sized stores, sit in a chair without fear of breaking it, not need an extender on an airplane, have friends and family stop telling you what your problem was...The list goes on and on for each of us. I am beginning again to touch my dreams...today! This may not be anyone's truth but I just needed to vent and recommit publicly...Blessings!
  2. Hi Healthy...it took a while for my bowels to adjust. I had to take laxatives, advised by surgeon, and drink plenty of water. The constipation was awful. I still have to get a little help and I am a year surgiversary this month. Listen to your body... Blessings!

  6. You are doing great! I could not have lost 45 pounds in three months without this kind of help...could you? Let yourself be happy with your achievement on this journey...discouragement brings old habits. Blessings;-)

  8. I say wait to shop. I got such a lift when I went through my closet and all the clothes were getting looser and looser! I had clothes that I had gotten to large for and then they became too large for me! I would roll the waist down and pull my pants up as far as i could. When I finally went to "look" I tried on my first size 18 jeans and started happy dancing in the fitting room! Priceless! Down from a 24-28! I felt FANTABULOUS! Shop your closet first by pulling all the old hopeful outfits out first then go "looking" Sent from my iPad using VST

  12. I have been taking the biotin before my surgery as well. I am completely natural but I do wear weaves and micros to take the pressure off of staying my natural hair. I also take omegas and now using coconut oil. I have had regular shedding but a lot of growth over the past year. I hope it continues;-)

  17. Yes. Unfortunately we have all experienced this scale dance. My issues from time to time have been Water weight especially since I could only take a bite or two of food. The other thing is that the body is going through its own trauma adjustments and thinks you are starving yourself. I don't know but the scale can become a fixation...don't do it everyday...too taxing emotionally;-) Hang in there! Sent from my iPad using VST
  18. YOU LOOK GREAT!!! Young and fit! Congratulations sexy! Sent from my iPad using VST
  19. Yes. I have noticed an increase as well. I try hard to look to the Protein drinks and the like but I also love the fruits and veggies. Before a couple ounces of Protein was all I could stand. Now I need a bite more and my sweet tooth is back. Anyone else? Need feedback!!!
  20. The removal of the apron...or my case the skin that hangs down after weight loss or having kids. Not quite a tummy tuck. There are some before and afters on google. Just my understanding of it. Take a look see;-)
