How was that for you?

It was just fine for me, personally I prefer to heal at home- hospitals freak me out! My dr was about 2 hours away so he asked that I stay at a hotel near him for 2 nights just in case something went wrong-- which I did and it was fine. I love my dr and would use him a million times over. He saved me SO much money by doing that. My surgery was $9800 total and that was all appts included- he even came and checked on me at the hotel :)

I had mine at a same day surgery center in Coos Bay, Oregon. Check in 8 am, walked out at 2:30 in the afternoon feeling a bit out of it, but OK. I live about 1 hour away, so went home for the night (in my own bed with my doggies). Went back the next morning for leak test and routine IV fluids. Then the day after that I went back again to have my drain pulled and officially 'released'. No regrets. I would much rather be at home than in a hospital.

Mine was done outpatient at a hospital;. Checked in at 9 am was home by 6. After surgery they did an upper GI to check for leaks and then sent me on my way.
