Guys: Telling People?

Recommended Posts

There's a thread here about losing friendships over the Sleeve. All women (i think) are weighing (haha!) in. I'd really like to know if guys have the same issue. And do you tell people?

Thanks!!

Judy

I'm usually upfront about everything with people. Consequently I've told everyone - even at work. I'm not making a big deal about it. But, I don't mind anyone knowing.

Nobody at work knows. My weight has nothing to do with my job and I don't want it to even be a topic.

Same with anyone else, really. I never talked about my weight before, why would it be a subject now?

I've only told my husband and mother in law. My own family doesn't know. If someone were to ask me if I had surgery, I don't know how I'd answer. It's not that I'm ashamed of it, but I'm an extremely private person. My husband knows for obvious reasons, his mother knows because we needed help with the kids during the recovery process. I haven't told my family because the live on the other side of the country and make zero effort to have anything to do with my life. If they don't want to know what's going on, I won't volunteer the information!

Well I told everyone just for the simple fact when I was looking into getting my surgery I had no one to ask questions to. I then found out there was a whole secret community at my job that had all types of bariatric surgeries. I want someone who has questions not to be ashamed to ask or feel alone like I sometimes did...so I lay my cards on the table. I dont care what ppl think...I did this for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
