Did anyone have to take the smoking test before surgery where you had to blow into a machine to measure for carbon dioxoide?

No but it was a standing threat from my surgeon's office that helped me to quit smoking like I was supposed to prior to surgery.

Hi. My Dr. ordered lab work to test for nicotine.

I have quit smoking for 7 years but my Doc orders the test for all patients I guess. When the lab drew blood one was for nicotine.

I had a urine test. I quit for 5 days so I could pass. Be careful though...I ended up with a blood clot after surgery. My Dr required me to have a filter placed bc of my history with blood clots and that saved my life so please don't smoke.

please please please - if you really want to do something for your health, please quit smoking! I KNOW how hard it can be. I did it - several times. I finally did it for real almost 6 years ago.
