42.8 Bmi And Hypothyroid

I am scheduled for surgery August 31st. I have some concerns and was wondering if anyone out there has had the sleeve and also has hypothyroidism. How did it affect your weight loss? My biggest fear is that I go through the surgery and not have a significant amount of weight loss.

I have hypothyroidism also. I was worried about taking my medication every day after the surgery. In the first week after surgery I did not take it due to I did not really drink or eat too much. However I started taking it the second week and did not have any difficulties. It has not impacted my ability to lose weight. I have lost 40 pounds and feel great!

As long as you take your medicine and do your bloowork to keep checking on your thyroid it should have no ill effect,

I have hypothyroid as well and although my loss has been a little slower (57 lbs in 5.5 months) than others, I feel great! You will be fine!

I also have hypothyroid, actually my thyroid was removed due to a goiter and multi nodules. I looked at this surgery as a way to finally lose weight and keep it off. So far it seems to be working:).
