8 months post op....82 pounds gone!
8 months ago I weighed 237 pounds....today 155! I am 5 pounds away from goal!! I'm so excited! I eat anything and everything. I don't restrict myself but I do pay attention to what my body tells me. I don't do well with breads and pastas or red meat. I will eat it from time to time...whenever I get a craving but seafood seems to do better with my new tummy.

6 month update
All has been well. I've lost a total of 74 pounds! Woo Hoo!! I haven't really had any issues except possibly a kidney stone. It hasn't been officially diagnosed yet. Anyone else having lower back discomfort and urgency to pee? It's not a UTI...already ruled that out.

Omg! Its Been So Long!
Onederland!! For the first time in over ten years.....I am under 200!! It feels amazing!! Its been 8 weeks since surgery. I have lost a total of 40 pounds! If you wouldve asked me 4 weeks ago if it was worth going through the surgery...i wouldve said hell no. I had an issue where they thought my sleeve was too small. I couldnt hold anything down. They wanted to go in and "balloon" my stomach in order to stretch it. I decided not to do that and pushed through it. Im so glad i did. Eating is much easier and im losing the weight despite a 3 week stall! I just have to keep reminding myself that IT DOES GET EASIER. Just like veterean sleevers said it would. Pics to come later!

Cant Stop Crying! Help!
I had my vsg done exactly 1 week and 2 days ago. Up until yesterday, I had been fine. Ofcourse I went through the whole "head hunger" thing but other than that things were as expected. Yesterday I was getting ready for bed and was overcome with this need to cry. It has not gone away! I haven't stopped crying and I don't even know why! Is this normal? I have lost 13 pounds so far and am absolutely thrilled about that. Today tho, I have been in bed All day...minor pain in my left side and back and I cannot stop crying. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this part of the process? Sent from my iPhone using VST

2 Days Til Surgery Freakout!
Hey you guys! I had my surgery Friday! I am now 4 days post op. I'm feeling good other than a burning sensation whenever I drink anything. I just took my first dose of Prilosec so I'm hoping that will help. Still sore but atleast I'm able to sleep on my side. I have found that most of my hunger is "head hunger" I'm learning to work on that. I am looking forward to the full liquid diet I start on Friday just for a change in flavor. This clear liquid stinks haha but so worth it! Sent from my iPhone using VST

2 Days Out
I was sleeved Friday 8/31. I was supposed to come home yesterday but was having issues keeping Fluid down. I have done much better today. I'm not going to lie, I'm still very uncomfortable. My incisions hurt everytime I stand up...especially the one in my belly button. The area around one of my incisions is very bruised. It hurts when I take deep breaths and my stomach seems to spasm when I drink fluids. The doctor said all of this was normal and should pass. Has anyone else had these same symptoms? I don't have any regrets as I know that it will all be worth it in the end. I weighed 237 when I started my journey..227 before surgery and 225 today! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Tomorrow's The Day!
Well, tomorrow is the big day! I have to be at the hospital at 530 am. It's weird that I am not at all nervous. Instead, I find that I am missing food. I have been on the pre op diet and I have to admit that today has been the hardest. I am truly missing food! I feel sad that at this very moment because I cannot have anything to eat. Will I feel this way post -op?

Pre Op Visit Complete
I just completed my pre op visit. I am officially registered and ready to go for surgery August 31st. I have to admit that I am getting nervous and even find myself wondering if I am doing the right thing. I guess my biggest fear is that I am about to undergo major surgery and what if it doesn't work? What if I go through all this and I don't succeed? I know that I will lose the weight. I know that I am committed to succeeding but what if my body doesn't cooperate? I am terrified that because I have hypothyroidism, I won't be able to lose as much as I want. (I'm hoping to lose 100 pounds). I know it's probable pre surgery jitters talking but I can't help but worry.

42.8 Bmi And Hypothyroid
I am scheduled for surgery August 31st. I have some concerns and was wondering if anyone out there has had the sleeve and also has hypothyroidism. How did it affect your weight loss? My biggest fear is that I go through the surgery and not have a significant amount of weight loss.

August 31St - Big Day!
Well, looks like I will be getting sleeved on August 31st. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. I know this is what I want but am nervous about what lies ahead. I ordered my protein shakes and they arrived yesterday. I tried Unjury strawberries and cream and I have to admit that I was not at all delighted with the taste lol. Any advise will be greatly appreciated!
