Psych Eval?

The idea of it scares me. Maybe because I'm not sure what it all entails. My fear is I'll go in and cry and say how I grief ate when my dad died and I was 3 months pregnant. How with back pain (non weight related), I was unable to move right and got depressed and viscous cycle and stress and emotions and then "okay, you are crazy! No surgery for you! Get out of my office!"

But i know its just insecurity and fear of something I want/ need so badly slipping away.

So what is it like REALLY?

Mine was quick and simple. Mostly I admitted that my overeating was no one's fault but my own and that I knew that my ability to succeed was based on me and not those around me. They do want to make sure you have a good support system, though. I can only speak for myself, but it was quick and painless for me. I hope it goes well, and if you cry, oh well!!! It's healthy and sometimes you just have to let it out!

Good luck!

We spoke about a lot of things for 1 hour. Then I took a test that took another hour. Dumb yes and no questions. You will do just fine. And I also cried at times during the talk because I tend to be depressed. It did't have me fail. Don't worry please of cake LOL. :) Doesn't really serve cake  .

I had the same exact fear. I knew I was depressed because of the weight gain, and I was afraid this would hinder the clearance. took a 600 question true false test. The psychologist basically said " I know it will come back as your depressed". They really just want to make sure that you don't have any eating disorders or any other self sabatoging behavior that will put you at risk after surgery. Don't worry it will be fine.
