Bruises?

Just wondering how long it took for the bruises from the Lovenox shots to go away?

I had 3 shots, one for each day I was in the hospital. These bruises are big and yellow..and ugly. One even has a knot in it. My stomach looks a total mess between these 3 big bruises and my incisions. When will they go away??

What are the Lovenox shots for?

lovenox is given to patients to reduce the risk of blood clots. Some doctors require the patients to do them at home before or after the surgery. and some doctors do heparin shots while your in the hospital under for surgery. It is all a preventative concept.

It took me about 3 weeks for them to be completely gone. They were HUGE bruises though and people all heal differently.

I can't remember exactly how long, but it was a while, like weeks. I remember looking down one day and wondering why I was still bruised so far out from surgery. It still seems to me that I'm holding on to bruises a little longer. Fell 2 Saturdays ago and still bruised up.
